A double chocolate chip cookie is something I love to get every time I go to Starbuck’s during the wintertime. It is a perfect match with my hot beverage. My wife doesn’t like this idea, because it’s expensive to get a drink and a cookie every time! So she makes these cookies instead.

Double Chocolate Chip Cookie

  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Step 2

Sift flour, baking soda and salt, then set aside.

Step 3

In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended.

Step 4

Beat in vanilla, egg and egg yolk until light and creamy.

Step 5

Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended.

Step 6

Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon.

Step 7

Drop cookie dough ¼ cup at a time onto a greased cookie sheet.

Step 8

Bake for 15 to 17 minutes.

Step 9

Cool on a wire rack.
