Howdy,
Kananaskis Country offers so much, from camping, hiking and skiing, to spas and resorts, wildlife and the some of the best views on the entire planet. There’s always an adventure to be had, a new place to see, another mountain to climb and another lake or river to swim in. The entire area is stunningly beautiful and is a monthly trip for me as a Calgarian.

Stay
- Go camping! There isn’t too much in the way of places to sleep out there besides camping and the odd hotel off the highway.
Eat
- Lunch at the top of a mountain can’t be beat, and you’ll be hungry by the time you make it up there!
Drink
- By the river. There’s a campground called Onespot Crossing that’s easily accessible just outside of Bragg Creek, only 30 minutes from Calgary. They also offer private riverside Tippi glamping.
Explore
- Go for a hike in upper Kananaskis behind Canmore, and then come down into the Upper Chain Lakes for a swim!
